The 4 P's serve as the foundational values of FYI's youth programming and original, participatory theatre work.
FYI's 4 P's Pedagogy Training: Pleasure
Talking about difficult subjects like sexuality deserves and demands enjoyment. We believe in cultivating intentional lightness to stay in hard conversations for longer periods of time. Our plays are also artistically rigorous, and use movement, music, and humor to bring enjoyment to our audiences.
In this training, dive into the idea and application of the concept of "Pleasure" in artmaking, curriculum design, and community building process. In each session, we allow plenty of time for participation-based activities, collaborative making, and the opportunity to envision how our framework applies to your own contexts.
Facilitated by FYI Company Members Jessamyn Fitzpatrick and Anna Sung-En Medill.
For Youth Inquiry (FYI), ICAH's resident performance company, designs participatory theatre experiences to activate the creative potential of school, family, and healthcare systems and improve the wellbeing of youth. Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
